The Big D

We spent this past weekend with my sister and her family in the Dallas area. We had a great time and kept busy! Our first activity of the weekend was a trip to IKEA. This was my idea... a good one, ummm, that is up for debate!!

The IKEA trip started with a visit to the Swedish Cafeteria housed in the store. It was yummy! We feasted in Swedish meatballs, wraps and soup. After the meal, we headed into the store, following the giant blue arrows that helped us navigate through the beast. It was a nice time until Noah wandered away from us, not one, not two, but THREE times! The third time he was not quickly found and the store had to SHUT DOWN until he was found. No one was allowed in or out. It was lovely. My sister finally found him moseying through the kitchen gadget department after we had been running around frantically yelling his name all over the place. By the time we checked out, there were quite a few customers who were familiar with Noah, his name AND his antics!!

Most of the reason for me wanting to visit IKEA was to choose some bedroom items for our soon-to-be foster child. (Idea given to me by friend Ashley... thanks Ash!) I had to stay focused and choose something that was "gender-neutral" but it was hard to keep from getting into the whole boy/girl theme... so much cute stuff! Well, we found some cute pieces for the room, you can view them here. It is a fun underwater theme so we added a couple of sea-creature stuffed animals and a sea-horse wall light that is precious!

Our next adventure was a Rangers baseball game courtesy of my sis and her husband. They were playing the Astro's and the Rangers hit 6 home runs during the game! It was amazing and the kids had a BLAST! Here is the only picture we were able to take because I was a dork and forgot to charge the battery prior! (no, Lauragale is not pretending her hand is a phone.)

On Saturday, we spent the day in my sister's pool after enjoying a leisurely brunch. Curtis and I carried the results of our day in the sun back to Tulsa with us... we look like two lobsters with raccoon eyes! I think it was worth the sun spots and possible melanoma though, (I am kidding, don't be a hater because of the cancer remark... it's sarcasm!) it was heaven laying on a raft and playing with the kids all day!

For dinner that night, we kept with our theme and went to a local grill called "Life's A Beach". They have live music, fire pit, great food and a HUGE sand/beach area that was so fun for the kids!

Sunday morning we got up, packed the car and had a short visit before heading back home. We had a wonderful time and it made us even MORE thankful that my sister and her family will be moving here this summer! We miss them SO much and can't wait for more weekends like this one!
