A Romantic Meal

My daughter seems to change a little bit everyday. In the past month or so she is turning from this sweet, compliant, innocent angel into this independent, sarcastic, silly smarty-pants. (don't let the choir robe fool you!)

Tonight at the dinner table, about halfway through our meal, daughter announces that she would like to turn off the overhead lighting to induce a more "romantic" atmosphere. Ok, where did she hear the word "romantic" (not from us!) and how does she know it's meaning? Well, we agree that she can hit the lights and then she informs us that she has some "personal tips" for a romantic meal! So here they are, as she told them to us...

Daughter's Tips for a Romantic Meal:

Tip #1- A "dreamy" look

Tip #2- Get dressed up

Tip #3- Get away from the kids

Tip #4- Choose a romantic location- the park (and bring a blanket to sit on).

As daughter wraps up her presentation of Romantic Tips, husband starts "singing" his rendition of "Step by Step" by the incomparable Eddie Rabbitt. (just click on the link to experience the musical genius for yourself.) In case you are unfamiliar with the lyrics, husband sings the "steps" that are to be taken to woo your lady in a romantic manner. They are as follows:

Step 1- Ask her out and treat her like a lady.

Step 2- Tell her she's the one you're dreamin' of.

Step 3- Take her in your arms and never let her go.

So now you see... this is what my family dinners are like. Interesting, huh. These are just a few of the reasons that I am as blessed (and crazy) as I am. Lord help me!
